Even in high school and college, you have to be proactive about your life or you can be left behind. Actively identify what needs to be done in order to accomplish tasks and take steps immediately to fulfill those needs. For example, don’t wait until summer to begin identifying your financial needs for the upcoming school year.  Begin to assess those needs as soon as you begin to consider or plan to register for school. Then, identify funding sources and qualification requirements. Create an action calendar with deadlines. This way, you’re less likely to feel blindsided by the costs of your education and will feel more prepared to cover them.
